    blight. A spraying machine is used, and the mixture consists of spring water, washing-soda, and blue-stone. In Autumn the potatoes are dug, and servants usually pick them. The big potatoes are picked first and put in a pit, the small ones are then picked and put into bags for pig feeding. The potatoes are stored in pits and covered with earth and straw outside.
    Irish Queens, Flounders, Land Leaguers, Champions, and Up-to-dates the best known and grow best in the district.
    Long ago starch was made from poatatoes.
