- There are not many local heroes in my parish. But there was a man living in the district of Kilmeedy bu the name of Denis O'Brien.
He was a famous fastballer and runner, and he used to play with his local team.
He was in the service of an old gentleman and he was there nearby all his life.
He was the captain of the team because he was the best of them.
At that time matches used to be fought across the country and the team that carried the ball to their parish were declared the victor.
So at that time there was another wealthy gentleman living in the country, that wanted his team to win.
The two gentlemen were on good terms, so he asked him would he get(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
