- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)of this parish. His feast-day falls on March 19th.. Tuath na Droman which means Country of the ridges of hills was the ancient name of this parish, but it changed to Cill na Martar because of the many cures were wrought at Cill Lachtín.There are very few people of advanced years in the district. The few left are native speakers of Irish. The dwellings in which they reside are comfortable slate-roofed houses. There are no thatched roofs to be seen now, although there were many half a century ago. Travellers are charmed with the scenery of our district, for every bend of the road unfolds a fresh and picturesque scene.Margaret O Connell
