Jack waited and watched and soon he saw the blood flowing down the stream. He knew then that his friend, the red bull, was dead and he was very sorrowful. He went into the field which the red bull had painted out to him and found there the coat and put it on.
He then set out for home and on his way he met a butcher. The butcher offered to hire him and Jack agreed. He remained with the butcher for three years and at the end of that time he said that he would like to go home. The butcher was agreeable and gave Jack a large sum of money to carry home. When Jack reached home his parents were very sorry for what they had done. He gave them the money he had got from the butcher and the tree of them lived together happily for the rest of their lives.
