    Some kind of an emblem or cross is usually either worn or placed in the house on certain feast days of the year.
    On Saint Patrick's Day the shamrock is worn and also green ribbons, green brooches and other green emblems. On Saint Brigid's night crosses of straw and wood are made and are placed in the roof of the house or in the ceiling. Such crosses are made in honour of St. Brigid's cross.
    Holly and ivy are put up around the house at Christmas as it is an old custom for years back. Holly with red berries on it is often used and is very nice. On May day bunches of primroses or May flowers as they are called are put up around the house and a bunch is tied outside each door on top of a long stick. It is called the 'Maypole'. Palm is
