   The wild birds in district are, the sparrow, the blackbird, the thrush, the wren, the magpie, the crow, the cuckoo and many others. The cuckoo and the swallow migrate.

   The sparrow builds her nest in the roof of a house. The blackbird builds her nest in the bushes. The thrush builds her nest on banks. The wren builds her nest in the eve of a thatched house. The magpie builds her nest in a tall tree. The crow builds her nest on the tops of trees. The cuckoo builds no nest.

   The crane flies up the river in fine weather and down in wet weather. The crows fly high in the air when wind is coming. The blackbird sings in fine weather.

   When Our Lord was dying on the cross. All the birds were flying around him. The robin came and brushed against Our Lords hands and ever since he is called robin-redbreast.
