- St Stephen's Day is a great feast day School boys dress up and put vizards on their faces and go from house to house. They have a wren on a holly bush. They have ribbons on the bush. They ask for money and they sing songs. This is the song they sing-
"The wren, the wren, the king of all birds,
St Stephen's day she was caught in the furze.
All tho she was little her family was great,
Rise up land-lady and give us a treat
Up with the kettle and down with the pan,
Give me some money and then I'll go on."
All the money they gather St Stephens Day they divide it evenly among each other and they spend it themselves.St. Bridget's Night.
On that night boys about twelve years dress up and put vizards on their faces. They are called the "Breedogues" They come to the house about nine o' clock, and they stay until ten o' clock(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
