(All the following riddles were given by pupils)
1 What goes round and round the wood, and never goes in the wood? The bark of a tree.
2 What is it that is full of holes but can still hold water? A sponge.
3 As I went in a guttery gap,
I met my uncle Davy,
I cut off his head, and drank his blood,
And left his body lying easy.
A bottle of wine.
4 Under the ground and over the ground and never touches the ground.
A pipe in a miner's pocket.
5 Why is a lazy boy like a Christmas pudding?
Both have to be stirred up.
6 When is a carving knife on its travels?
When it cuts through Turkey + Greece
7 Why is a dark boy always a cheat?
Because he is never fair.
8 Why don't they hang a man with a glass eye?
Because they use a rope.
9 Rich men want it, poor men have it, ,Blind men see it, deaf men hear it ? Nothing
10 What is it that goes off, and still does not move from the same place? A gun
11 What has a mouth but no face ? A river(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
