The Big Wind was in 1837 and it did a great deal of harm. Trees were knocked down, roofs of houses blown away and Mission stands which were outside the Chapel in Mullinavat were blown away also.
About twenty one years ago in the month of February there was a big snow storm. The snow was ten feet high and it stayed on the ground for two months.
About seven years ago we had a heavy rainstorm. The River Barrow overflowed and the water went into all the houses on the Quay of New Ross. The stools and chairs were floating round in the water.
