    Thomas Quinlan of Mullinakill could bind as much in a day as another man would bind in two days.
    Tommy Coady and Martin Dalton of Garrandanagh could throw a small stone from the road outside our house down to Phelan's bogs - about two hundred yards.
    Tommy Cody is able to do every step that was ever done by anyone. He likes the hornpipe best of all.
    Billy Maher - he is a tramp - is a great story-teller. His favourite story was about a Frenchman who went to look for work when he stopped school.
    James Cantwell of Ballyvoole is a good singer. His favourite song is "The little girl with the bonny brown hair". His brother, Michael is another good singer. The song he is most accustomed to sing is "About the Pension".
