  1. Once upon a time there was a haunted house at Clounmelane and anybody could'nt stay one night in it, as there was a corpse to be seen laid out on the table in the room.
There was a shoemaker in the place who was never known to be afraid, and he was asked would he stay one night in the house. The shoemaker consented to go, but it being Saturday night, he had a pair of boots to finish and he asked if he could take the boots with him to the haunted house so he was told he could. He started to work and commenced to sing the "roving journey man".
The man who pretened to be dead, worke up at once and said, you should'nt sing in the presence of the dead. No said the shoemaker or a dead man should'nt talk. So saying he struck him with the hammer and threw him on the ground and ever since, the house isn't haunted.
