  1. One day as two Captains were drinking in a public house, they had a talk about their schooner and Mr. Brigg said he would race Mr. Black to America although Mr. Black was leaving a day before Mr. Brigg. Next day Mr Black set sail. And twenty four hours after Mr. Briggs set sail.
    Three days passed and Mr. Briggs gave up hope of winning. He sailed on for another day and then he saw a little speck on the horizon and a few hours after they could see it Mr. Black's ship. Then Mr. Brigg said it was not like Mr. Black to have his sails in such a state so they came along side and they saw no one there and they started shouting "Mary Celeste ahoy" No answer came. Everyone was afraid to go on board the other ship. At last the mate and two other sailors went aboard. They went down
