They fired the cat out in the field and they did not eat a bit that day.

  2. Long ago there was a woman living at the sea at Port - a - vade and it happened that there was a station in her house. She made up her mind that she would give a good breakfast to the priest and people. Tea was then novelty in the country. The woman did not know how to prepare it. When the tea was ready she threw out the tea and kept the tea leaves. The people were in the room at the breakfast and she gave them the tea leaves on plates Then the priest asked "Where was the soup"? "I threw it out" said the woman and the priest said "I would sooner the soup than the leaves".
