There was a company of soldiers living in this place called the "Scotch Grey's" and they helped the Landlords to evict the people, and there soldiers marched up and down through Falcarragh every day and each soldier played a flute.
The people that were evicted out of Barrowcannon were Hugh McFadden, John McGee, John McClafferty, Daniel McClafferty, Hugh Mclean, John McClaffery, Peter Boyle and Edward McFadden. All these people were out of their homes for twenty years. Peter Boyle was living in a sod house over in Heathfield, there were twins in the cradle the day they were evicted and the soldiers put the cradle in a sheltered place under a tree and it was a very cold March day.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
