- There are many old signs of coming storms, rain and good weather, which have been handed down from generation to generation though some of them may not be accorded in any books.
Some of the following are weather guides -
Get a glass jam jar, half fill it with water, put the neck of a bottle down into the jar until it is within less than a quarter of an inch from the water in the jar. If you see the water rise up to the neck if the bottle it is a sure sign that rain is near at hand.
After a long spell of dry weather, when we see the springs beginning to open up it is a sure sign of rain.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
