Ned Parker who lived in Billeragh, Araglen, Kilworth, Co. Cork was a very strong man. He used to lift two cwts of artificial manure with one hand and put it into a horse cart.
Among many of our famous mowers was John Hyland who used to mow at least two acres and a half in the day. He is still alive and strong and he lives in Barnahown, Aragklen, Kilworth, Co. Cork.
Another great mower of the locality was Patrick Begley, Gortnaskehy, Araglen, Kilworth, Co. Cork. He used to mow two acres in the day.
Mrs. McCarthy who is now well over seventy years is able to dance all Irish dances such as Reels, Hornpipes and Doubles. She is also a great singer and a story-teller. A few of her favourite songs are Sliabh na mBan, The Wedding of Ballyporeen and The Hat my Father Wore.
