The priest then would not allow any of his own children to attend the school with the result that it had to close down in a short time as there were very few children of any other religion.
There was a Mr Cavanagh who taught school later on in the same house and lived there also. He taught only a short number of years and he had a very bad attendance with the result that the landlord Mr Pratt evicted him as they were agreeing badly. Mr Cavanagh had no fixed abode and he was a book-seller. He used to sleep along the roadside.
There was no school taught there from that to this and the house is occupied by the tenant of the land.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
