- Long ago the people in this district had three meals. The food was porridge and oaten bread. The people did work before the morning meal.
Milk was drunk at nearly every meal. Potatoes were eaten at nearly every meal too. If there was a big family they would have the table in the middle of the floor. All wheaten bread was eaten.
On St. Martins day there is always fowl for dinner.
Hardly any meat was eaten but plenty of fish was eaten. On pancake Tuesday people made pancakes.
Before cups were common people used noggings. They were made of wood with handle on both sides. I did not hear of the firs time tea was used in this district.- Bailitheoir
