    Starch.
    Long ago starch was made in a very cheap manner.The old people used scrape potatoes in to a bucket.Then they used squeeze it in a little bag made for the purpose. The starch then was in that water and after a while it would sink to the bottom and harden into a cake.
    The water was thrown off and a fresh washing given this water was thrown off again and was given its last washing .Then if there was any rib or dirt they would scrape it off.Then it was broken in to a bowl and hot water is
