  1. It was an old custom to borrow something when getting married.
    When a person was getting married out of a house, it is right to throw the tongs after him.
    This is a rhyme of the days for getting married - Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, and Wednesday the best day of all. Thursday for losses and Friday for crosses and Saturday no day at all.
