  1. It is an old custom to leave the door opened on Christmas night to let the Blessed Virgin in if she was (is) passing and not to put any blinds on the windows.
    On Christmas Eve the people put holly and ivy round on all the house and leave it round at all the pictures for the twelve days of Christmas.
    On Christmas night it is right to leave a candle lighting on every window in the house and it is right for the youngest child in the house to light them.
