  1. Long ago the people used not have as good time as they have nowadays. They were poor and could not afford to buy a lot of things.
    When the Christmas was at a close, the shop keepers would put the clives and straddle on his horse and go into Westport and bring enough stuff to supply his customers. The people used to go and buy a stone of flour and some tea and sugar and currants and that stone of flour would have to last some of the poorer people until the would come again.
