   They work with a plough. There were wooden ploughs in this district long aho. They are not used now. The spades were bought. All the neighbours work together. They make a big long hole as a pit. They leave the potatoes in the pits during the winter season. We have several kinds of potatoes such as Champions, Lady-Fingers, Aran-Banners, Queens, Golden Millers, Ker Pinks, Aran Victors, British Queens, Leaguers, Champions are the best for eating. They used to make starch from them long ago. I do not know how the starch is made. Potato cakes used to be made from them long ago, and are still made.

   We sow potatoes in the farm every year. My father prepares the ground. Sometimes he digs the ground and sometimes he ploughs it. Sometimes they manure the ground before hand. Very few people sow the potatoes in ridges. They
