- There are three Blessed Wells in this parish, one in Killbricken, one in Castletown, and one inside in Doora. Their names are St Michael's Well, St Brigid's Well, and St Odhran's Well. A good many people visit these blessed Wells. They visit St Michael's Well on the twenty ninth of September, and they visit St Brigid's Well on the first of February. The rounds are made by going round the Well and saying prayers. There were several cures wrought at St Michael's Well. A woman lived in Ennis and her only son was blind. One day she went to St Michael's Well to do the rounds and she brought him with her. When he was going in home near the River Fergus. He saw the lights of the town and from that day out he saw. Blind eyes or sore eyes are the only diseases cured at St Michael's Well. They rub the water to the eyes. They bring home some of it. They leave flowers, pennies, half-pennies, pencils, and so(continues on next page)
