people of Rathclooney told him that if he did not stop going that way he would be sorry, but he did not take their advice. One fine calm night as he was crossing by the fort something began to strike the ground around him and a storm began to rage. He hurried home and escaped unhurt, but he never went that way again.
Michael McMahon, of Rathclooney and Pat Kinley of Drumbaniff, were coming from a dance which was at Barefield. Barefield is about four miles north of Ennis. They crossed through a fort on their way home and went out a stile at the other side. Pat Kinley went fist and when he was half way through the next field he missed his companion. He went back and found him on the ground and a small stone on his breast and he was unable to rise. The stone appeared to be very small, but he was hardly able to lift if off the other man it was so heavy. When the stone was gone off his breast he got up and they both got home unhurt.
