1. Riddle, riddle ree, What middle shall it be? Through a rock, through an old spinning wheel, through a bag of pepper, through a miller's hopper; through a horse's shin bone, Such a riddle never was known. Ans. A
2. What goes up the chimney clean and won't go down the chimney up? Ans. An umbrella
3. Opens like a barn door and closes like a trap You may guess for ever, but you can't guess that?
4. Turn my face and I'm something. Turn my back and I'm nobody. Ans. Mirror.
5 What goes round the house and round the house and sleeps in the corner at night? The Broom.
6. What goes from one house to another and sleeps outside. Ans. A path.
7. Long legs, short thighs, little head and no eyes. Tongs.
8. What goes round the house and round the house and a harrow after it. Ans. A hen with her flock of chickens
9. Little Genny Huddle, she sits in a puddle, the longer she sets the shorter she grows. A Candle.
20 There is a little house and it would not hold a mouse and there are as many windows in it as the Lord Mayor's house. A thimble.
