  1. Long, long ago there lived an old man and he took very ill and died. The wife and family were in a terrible state about him, and the mother said to one of the children "Put on the pot, and water in it". So then she sent for a man to 'lay him out'. He started to lay him out. so up he jumped and asked them what were they going to do. He got his clothes and put them on him, and went up to the fire and lived for many years after. when he did die not one would go near him to lay him out.
