Every other day from Saint Brigid's Day is fine. Every day from Saint Patrick's Day is fine. On New Year's Day daylight lengthens as far as a cockscrow carries. All the months in the year will curse a fair February.

If a cool August follows a hot July it betokens a hard winter.
When the clouds are low it is a sign of rain.
When the sky is high it is a sign of good weather.
