  1. In the time of the Famine the main road to Killenaule was made. A part of the large hill was drawn away and put in the hollows to make the place level.
    The road is an old one, and it is called Spring Hill road. It is called this because on the top of the hill there is a spring which flows along the road to the foot of the hill.
