    If the dish-cloth falls, it is the sign of a hungry visitor.
    If a moth flies around the lamp at night it is the sign of a letter coming next morning.
    If a picture falls, it is the sign of a death.
    If your hand is itchy, it is the sign of money coming, or a strange shake-hands.
    If a tea-leaf is swimming on the top of your tea it is the sign of a stranger coming to the house.
    If a frog comes in on a wet day, it is the sign of good-luck.
    If a goat comes into the yard bawling it is the sign of rain, or if a lump of soot falls it is also the sign of rain.
    If two knives are crossed on the table it is the sign of a row.
