This fire is called the bonfire because when the people are building the fire they put a bone in the center of it.
Long ago when the people made fires they went around to all the cows and sheep and milked them for supper. On the eve of the bonfire night all the young boys and girls joined an bought loaves and they boiled them the next night for supper.
Any one who refused a bag of turf they went to the reek by night and took some turf.
