  1. My home district is in the parish of Laragh.
    It comprises all of Carrickallen and parts of Greagucrotta, Drumcalpin and Tullyinchin.
    My home is in the townland of Carrickallen.
    In this townland there are fifteen families and approximately sixty of a population.
    The family name most common in Carrickallen is Brady,
    There are seven two storied slated houses and eight thatched houses in this townland.
    There is a ridge of land stretching from Lough A Cannon and running northward.
    This land gradually rises and terminates in rock adjoining the Cavan / Shercock road.
    This rock is owned by Mr. Andrew Brady.
