  1. There was a giant who lived in this locality a few years ago. He was known by the name of Simon Mc Cann and was 8' 2" in height the R.J.C from Grousehall Barracks hearing about him arranged an interview with him. They asked him many questions until they had his patience sorely tired. They finally asked him if he were strong, and he promptly replied that he would prove to them his strength without further delay.
Before they had time two to [?] he took one man up in each hand, and struck them against each other many times before he released them.
They were shocked at this treatment, but nevertheless they laughed as they thought at was the better thing to do. There was a [?] house in the vicinity, and here they attained a large quantity of whiskey and treated Simon to plenty of it.
Simon scarcely ever felt home, and refused to attend any place of worship. He was rather sensitive about his great height.
