  1. Throughout Ireland, there are many ancient Churchyards about which there is much tradition Mullagh is not, indeed, behind in that respect.
    About a quarter of a mile outside the village, there is an old, old Churchyard. This place is called "Kelly's Churchyard" as a man named Kelly lived there and build a Church.
    Tradition tells us that Dermot Mac Murrough fought at this Church with the O'Rourkes of Breffney and burned it with the Hermit in it at prayer - leaving only its ruins which are to be seen at this present day.
