  1. Not very far out of the village of Mullagh, there are people of the name of Smith - always referred to as "Shinkas" who make baskets from sally- rods and sell them to the neighbours - grand strong baskets, too.

  2. In one house I know, the people in it make the most beautiful of rugs from rags and cast off clothes. Looking at them you would think they cost $5 - some of them are most refined looking in colours - greys mixed with blues, while others have large diamonds of crimson here and there. The crimson comes
