  1. The Leipreachan.
    The Leipreachan is called the Geanncanach in this district.
    It is supposed to be eight to twelve inches high. It is said to be dressed in a small red coat and trousers with a pointed cap on his head.
    He lives under lone bushes and in forts.
    His occupation is shoemaking and guarding treasures.
    Mr.Jimmy Knox who is over seventy years old and lives at Whitegate said he caught a Geanncanach who was hiding under a rock he caught it and it started to lead him to a crock of gold, but a man called him and he looked around and when he looked back the Geanncanach had disappeared.
    Mr.Sam Byers, Aughacashel saw a coach drawn by horses and in the coach was the Fairy Queen, after her came a number of fairies, they passed through a field
