In olden times it was the custom for someone to make rhymes...

    (continued from previous page)
    To see his abundant store,
    Of corn, meal and flour,
    All tumbling to the ground,
But had his friends been there,
    Their lives they would'nt spare,
In the saving of his share,
    In Ballinagh fair town.
It was believed that John Conarty's cash box was stolen that night, when some people were trying to save his goods. He was a shopkeeper in Ballinagh at that time.
