   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   Where lived P. Galligan's abode.
   Turn half a furlong from the road.
   And facing to the noon-day beam,
   Go on until you meet the stream
   So soft and silent steals along,
   As if listening to the warbler's song
   On some beautiful May morn
   From out the fragrant sweet haw-thorn.
   There on the bridges battlement
   Take a seat and be content.
   Until from memory I will trace
   The out-line of that holy place.
   There stood the chapel, and the school
   For sacrifice and rod and rule.
   Despite the laws of penal days,
   Our fearless fathers at Crosshays
   Assembled on one long watched day
   The day or date I will not say.
   Obedient to the Pastor's call
   To dig the ground and lay the wall.
