   I can see the following birds around my home, blackbirds, thrushes, starlings, robins, magpies, sparrows, and swallows.
   The swallows, cuckoo, and corncrake are migratory.
   Magpies build high up in the trees. Blackbirds and robins build in hedges. Wrens build in low bushes, or in holes in walls. The swallow builds mostly in old houses, and martens in the eaves.
   The cuckoo does not make any nest.
   Some birds' eggs are white, with brown spots. The birds sit on the eggs about three weeks. The boys are told if they rob birds' nests the birds will forsake them.
   If the birds fly low, it is the sign of bad weather. If high, good weather can be expected. If they fly inland usually foretells storm.
   There is an old legend that the robin picked some thorns from the Saviour's brow when He was on the
