  1. 47. St. Brigid's Night. On that night the old women used to dress up a churn dash in white, like a lady, & go from house to house (dancing) playing music and dancing "the dressed up lady" (the brideóg)
    Shrove - pancakes are made for tea on that evening & a ring put in one pancake. The person who gets the ring will be married first.
    Lent - it is the custom to deny oneself something during the Season of Lent.
    Michaelmas - People used to always eat the first goose on Michaelmas. (cont on page 9)
