Dan that he would find a "Crock of Gold". Dan went home and got a shovel and began to dig where the leprachaun had shown him, and true to his word he found a "Crock of Gold". Dan went home then with the "Crock of Gold" and put it under the bed and he himself went to sleep. The next morning his neighbours found him dead in the bed and the "Crock of Gold" was nowhere to be seen. Some of the people said it was the leprachaun who had killed him.
