- Rasp is made from raw potatoes. First of all you get the potatoes, wash and peel them. Then you rasp them with a rasp. Then the water is squeezed out and a few a handfuls of flour, a grain of salt, soda are put in and mixed into a batter. Then it is spread thinly on a griddle. The griddle is put on a griddle stand and the rasp is set to bake over the fire. When the bottom is brown the other side is turned down to get brown. When it is well baked it is taken up and butter is put on it.
