  1. There were three hedge schools in this district at one time. there was one situated in Cornacausk.
    When the master came he taught for five or six hours. The master was given some money every month by the parents of the children.
    He taught reading and writing. On a fine day he taught in Mr Glynns field.
    On a wet day the children cleaned out a shed and the master taught them there.
    When school was going on one of the boys got up on a tree and told the master if the English were coming. The other two schools were in Kilmore and Denoman
