  1. There used to be a man living beside where I live. The people put a nick name on him and called him the Nailer Haford. He used not make any nails.
    The men in olden times used to make their own nails. They had a forge for making them. First they get a piece of wire or a bit of iron. They put the wire or iron in the fire until it got red then it was taken out and made round. A top was beaten on it with a hammer. Nowadays people buy their own nails but they were cheaper if made at home.
