- Further information has come to hand about old houses in this district.
About 50 years ago or less three families occupied houses something on the style of "dug-out" cut out from the bog banks. There was only one door for entrance, ventilation, light etc.
The occupants had to go on bended knee to get in or out of them, as had also the priest or doctor when visiting them. A hole on top served as exit for smoke.
One of these families now occupies a labourer's cottage adjacent to the school.
