  1. At our crossroads in olden times the people would assemble together for miles around on Sundays or Summer evenings. The topics of the day would be talked over and the paper would be read for the crowd by my great grand-uncle. Then a man named Barney Fagan would start to play his fiddle and the dancing would commence. That lasted till after dark and there would be singing, storytelling and other amusements.
