  1. My father sows about an acre of potatoes each year. First the land is ploughed that means the drills are opened. Then manure is put in heaps along the drills about five yards apart. Soon it is spread along the drills. Next the seed potatoes is got. The large potatoes are then cut, each must have an eye and the small ones are left as they are.
    Each person sowing them gets a bucket full of seed and starts in a drill. The potatoes may be sowed in ridges or drills. My father sows them in
