  1. Once upon a time there lived in Mullingar a notable character. The people of the town took great interest in him.
    One day he was going down the town driving a little donkey. With the weight of the big heavy cart the little donkey collapsed and died. Then the poor man began to think within himself what should he do. At last he thought of a plan.
    He put the dead donkey up on the cart and acted himself as the donkey.
    He had not gone far when the police came and asked him where were his lights and he said "Ask the driver Sir".
