    supposed to be supplied with with the neccessary tools. All day long they toiled but their efforts were fruitless and that evening found them going home emptyhanded. They agreed to be on the spot early next morning again and the two men went to the town to their hotel.
    My great grandfather was early astir next morning. He waited for the two men but as they did not arrive he went to the spot himself. To his surprise on arrival the hole was interfered with and a flag unearthed and it bore the appearance as if the treasure had been taken.
    He then proceeded to the town to inquire about the men but he did not find them. It is thought that they took to their heels as the saying goes treasure and all.
    It is believed that the treasure was buried there during the trouble times for safety. One day some years after a workman of my grandfather's was repairing a
