  1. Hidden Treasure
A short distance from my home in Hanstown on the main road between Dysart and Mullingar in the county Westmeath there is a lot of gold hidden under a large stone flag, in a field belonging to a man named Christopher Byrne and near a public pump on the side of the road. This was hidden by a robber named Boyle. The soldiers were on his track and he could not get away in safety. After burying the gold he crossed the road and jumped in a stone wall and a large dyke on the other side which would be about fifty feet. The mark of his feet can be seen to the present day. He was a very powerful man so i expect that this jump was not too big for him. He crossed Hanstown fields and got away from the soldiers into a wood at Keoltown.
